"In My Darkest Hour" by Megadeth

Riff Rundown

Difficulty: Easy - Intermediate

Composer -Eleffson / Mustaine

Where to find this song - So Far, So Good, So What track # 6

Release Date - April 1988

After he left Metallica in 1983, guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine formed Megadeth. Though Megadeth followed the basic blueprint of Metallica's roughly laid ground guitar attack, Mustaine's group distinguished themselves from his earlier band by speeding the tempo up slightly, and making the instrumental attack harsher. Metallica has since gone toward that concept.

Intro

The intro has 3 different guitar parts, plus the bass part. Here's what they sound like all together:

Bass Guitar

In the first and second measures of the bass part, all you are doing is allowing the open "E" string to ring open a few measures.

The third and fourth measures are identical to the first and second guitar parts in the third and fourth measures, including the strings being played and everything. You already learned the bass line!!!!! Two instruments in one lesson!
